Florida Good Dogs was created out of experience not just love for dogs, but years spent in the dog training world watching families struggle when adoptions weren’t set up for success. Time and time again, we’ve seen well‑meaning families rescue dogs that simply didn’t fit their lifestyle. Dogs were placed without enough consideration for breed traits, size, age, temperament, or training needs, and the result was frustration on both sides. Families felt overwhelmed and unsupported. Dogs became confused, anxious, or mislabeled as “problem dogs” when the reality was that they were never given the right foundation or the right match. We’ve also seen the heartbreak that comes when families feel they have no choice but to give a dog up and worse, the damage caused by rescues that lack ethics, transparency, or long‑term accountability. Too often, dogs are shuffled from home to home without real preparation, and adopters are left without guidance once the paperwork is signed.
